Indicator plants
Some plants require only minimal water to grow and other require more. If you know the relief features and vegetation, you can recognize sure indications of soil moisture. The following plants can indicate whether the soil is moist or wet:

The abundance an indicator growing in a particular site can not only reveal the nature of the moisture but all the source of the wetness. However, soil samples should also be taken and examined.
